Bald-faced News 6/1/17: Light at the End of the Tunnel

Apparently everyone blew their news in the last two weeks, because there was hardly any new news this week. I barely have time to sleep, let alone play any interesting video games. Quickie this week.

Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite Roster Leak [RUMOR]

From a post on Neogaf we have a supposed (almost) full roster for MvC:I, missing one character on the Capcom side.

Monster Hunter
Strider Hiryu

Captain America
Captain Marvel
Doctor Strange
Iron Man
Rocket/Groot (this is how the character was named to me; I’m not sure if it’s just Rocket Raccoon with Groot assists or a redesigned character actually called Rocket/Groot)

The Capcom side is missing a character, but it’s probably someone like Frank West.”

Seems like the rumors/concern around Marvel leaning into the MCU characters and not giving any X-men the spotlight here were well founded, if this list is accurate. The poster goes on to say the Sigma and Venom are coming as DLC characters, as well, and that this roster was decided back when Marvel had full ban on non-MCU characters being promoted. Some X-men may come as DLC, but an MvC game with no X-men characters in it at launch doesn’t sit right with me.

E3 2017 Schedule

Set you alarms accordingly. EA is leading the charge on Saturday followed by Microsoft on Sunday with Bethesda coming in at the end of the day. The PC Gaming Show kicks off Monday leaving Ubisoft and Sony to finish the day off. That just leaves Nintendo with their livestream on Tuesday.

Despite the fact that E3 is basically just a big advertisement put on by the industry, I still find myself getting caught up in speculations, leaks, and conspiracy theories surrounding it. E3 still has the most brand-name recognition in this industry and it’ll be interesting to see how they adjust to the show being (officially) open to the public this year. #DMC5orbust

VA-11 HALL-A Update

VA-11 HALL-A still is not out for the Vita. They have indicated that they’ll be at E3, so hopefully we’ll get a date there (finally).

What’s on the Plate

For me, finals week is the largest looming threat, but I’ll try and seek refuge in Persona 5 NG+, Shadows of Valentia, and Horizon Zero Dawn with E3 waiting for me at the end. Thanks for reading, and have a great week.
